MCC’s Max Mrakovcic named Region IX Pitcher of the Week

McCook Community College sophomore Max Mrakovcic has been named the Region IX Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Mrakovcic, a right-hander from Sydney, Australia opened the series Friday with a dominating performance in a 2-1 win over Trinidad State to start the four-game series. MCC won the first three games of that series.

Against the Trojans on Friday, Mrakovcic pitched seven innings, allowed four hits, no earned runs and struck out a season-high 10 hitters to pick up his first win of the season in his fourth game overall.

For the season, the Louisiana-Monroe signee has thrown 15.2 innings, allowed nine hits, five walks and has struck out 18 hitters with a 1.72 ERA.
