The MCC baseball team picked up a 9-5 win in the second round of the Region IX Tournament at Damon Runyon Field Sports Complex. The Indians improve to 2-0 in the double-elimination format and will face top-seeded Northeastern Junior College Saturday at 3 p.m.

The MCC baseball team snapped its four-game losing streak Thursday winning the first game of a doubleheader against Southeast Community College 7-4 then dropping the second game 7-6.

Because of the weather forecast for Saturday, the final regular season home games for the MCC baseball team have been moved up a day, to Friday. The Indians’ doubleheader against Western Nebraska will start at 1 p.m. Friday at the Jaycees Sports Complex.

The MCC baseball team split a pair of blowout games against Western Nebraska Community College Wednesday on the road. The Indians won the first game 12-3 and lost the second game 19-9.

Trailing 1-0 in the fourth inning, MCC got the bats rolling and hit three home runs over their final four innings and scored all 14 runs on the way to a home win at the Jaycees Sports Complex where the Indians improve to 20-5 on their home field.

The MCC baseball squad split a pair of games Saturday at home against Luna Community College to win the weekend series 3-1. The Indians lost the opening game of Saturday’s doubleheader 5-4 and won the second game 14-2. With three wins against Luna MCC sets the school record for regular season wins (35).
