MCC’s Tait Anderson named second-team All-American

McCook Community College sophomore Tate Anderson has been named to the National Junior College Athletic Association All-American Division 1 Baseball second team. Anderson, was one of three pitchers selected to the second team.

The 6-4 left-hander from Auckland, New Zealand was tied for 10th in the nation with 10 pitching wins. He appeared in 13 games, starting 11 with six complete games and two shutouts. Anderson went 10-1 with a 3.61 ERA. In 67.1 innings, he allowed 72 hits, 16 walks and 84 strikeouts with a WHIP rate of 1.31 and a strikeout rate of 11.23 per nine innings pitched.

In his two years at MCC he appeared in 26 games, starting 16, and completing seven. He went 11-3 with two saves hurling 107 innings, allowing 116 hits, 26 walks and 118 strikeouts with a 1.31 WHIP and 9.93 strikeouts per nine innings pitched.

During the regular season he was named the Region IX Pitcher of the year and was a first-team All-Region IX player. As a freshman, he received honorable mention for the region team.
