MCC golfers wrap up fall schedule in Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. – The McCook Community College golf team wrapped up the fall schedule Tuesday in the two-day, three-round Falcon Cup Classic at Auburn Hills Golf Course

On Monday MCC had rounds of 325 and 326 and followed that up Tuesday with a final round 351 to finish 13th among the 14 teams.

"The big numbers this week continued to limit everyone's scoring opportunities," said MCC Coach Grant Case.

Indian Hills Community College (Iowa) claimed the team title with a team score of 19-under par. Friends University was second at 12-under par and Garden City Community College placed third with a six-over par 870.

Freshman Louis Yin (Tainan, Taiwan) was MCC's top golfer for the tournament with a 235. Jeb Kastens (freshman, Atwood) had rounds of 83 and 84 on Monday but did not finish the round on Tuesday.

Freshmen Joackym Mahy (Andenne, Belgium) and Braiden Portie (Arvada, Colo.) tied with scores of 256 and freshman Jalen Collicott (McCook) had a three-round total of 284.

"Everyone is looking forward to improving in the off-season and getting back to it in the spring," said Case.

The spring season starts March 19 in Lamar, Colo. followed with a home meet in the second week at Heritage Hills Golf Course March 26-27.
