Megan Ruppert Signs with Concordia Univeristy

Megan Ruppert, the Sophomore McCook native, has signed with Concordia University this past week.

Megan played in 49 Games last year for the Lady Indians. She hit .392 with 10 doubles, 6 triples, 6 home runs, and 28 RBI. She was a big help for MCC in winning the NCCAC title last year.

"I'm extremely proud of all the hard work and dedication Megan has put in to becoming the person and player she is today. She's been incredible for us in the community, in the classroom, and on the field." Coach Ben Greer said. "She has a drive to succeed that will take her a long ways in life and I honestly believe she could do whatever she puts her mind to doing. I'm very excited for her future at Concordia but I'll be more than sad to see her leave. She truly has represented MCC Softball as well I could have ever asked for."

Megan is looking forward to the upcoming season and excited about her career after MCC. "The atmosphere of Concordia was exactly what I imagined college to be like away from home. I loved the look and the people were all very friendly. Coach LaVelle made me feel like I was already a part of the softball family before I made my final decision. His coaching philosophies are very close to what I have been around the past two years with Coach Greer. I have had a great time staying in my hometown to play softball at the college level. Many memories were made on and off the field. Staying in McCook was one of the best decisions I have ever made and I can't wait to make many more memories this spring season."
